Valentine's Eve

Valentine's Eve

What does love mean to you?
Because your love was mean to me.
Do you know how much it hurt,
When your love shoved me in dirt?

For you it was all an easy chore,
Crack you knuckles, have a pour,
Then break my heart, oh so breezy,
Like easy peasy lemon-squeezy.

I’m sorry that love isn’t light, witch,
That I can turn on or off like a light switch.
You’re heavy handed, I’m heavy hearted,
For whatever reason, I’ve been out-hearted.

But across this barren love desert,
Comes a sweet, delicate dessert.
Another gentle soul who crossed my path,
And I died twice and twice came back.

She helps me see the monster you were,
As you tortured my person bare.
I hope you live a forlorn life,
All by yourself, a single wife,

You’ll never find that gentle soul you seek;
And the ounce of spite I keep,
I’ll pour out of this giant jug,
And you’ll be lucky if you get a hug.
